Imagine the freedom of dining anytime you want. Gourmet five-course meals, breakfast-lunch-dinner buffets, snack bars, 24-hour cafe’s and many other places to stop for a bite to eat. And best of all… it’s all INCLUDED!

Both casual and formal dining are available on all ships. You may dine bistro-style on deck or at the Buffet, for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you prefer to sit down to a more elegant experience, the dining rooms are open during the times described below.

When you make your cruise vacation reservations, tell us you dining preferences (time, companions, special diet requirements). If you are traveling with children, we recommend that you reserve main seating. For Groups, group dining will be assigned for everyone at the same time.

Dining times may vary slightly by ship and itinerary. Smoking is prohibited in the dining rooms of all ships. Visit our Dress Code page for more information about the appropriate attire for dinner.

Apart from your assigned dining room, you can dine at the buffet where Tea and Juices at the fountain are free. All food at the main dining restaurant is all you can eat, which means if they give you the menu and you want the steak, salmon and chicken, you can order all, in fact you can order anything and everything on your menu. On lobster night if you want three, just let you waiter know, so they have the three on your plate. Alcoholic drinks, Sodas & Bottled Water are not included.

Alcoholic drinks, juices, bottled water, smoothies are not included and you will be asked for your room key card to pay. To be safe if you want something and you are not sure, you can always ask. Beverage Packages are available for purchase, pre-order online or please do so on the first day you board, you will see them all around and sometimes at the entrance of the buffet restaurant.

Specialty Restaurant Packages are also available for purchase, discuss with you booking Agent.

Most, if not all Luxury ships are all-inclusive, which means all food, you can dine at all restaurants onboard and beverage including water & alcohol are included in your Cruise package. You will be advised accordingly at the time of booking.

If you book a Suite, you also have more added dining amenities, wider selection of room service menu and beverage package included in your Cruise package which varies for each Cruise Line and depending on the level of Suite you booked. You will be advised accordingly at the time of booking.

Freestyle Dining

With Freestyle Cruising, you travel a world of dining options all in one week. With so many restaurants, trattorias, bistros, pizzerias, buffets, grills and more, there’s a different dining option for almost every night of your cruise. With up to 10 different restaurants some ships have up to 24, each featuring a diverse and ever changing menu, you will always find exactly what you are in the mood for. And there are no fixed seating.

Imagine restaurants open from 5:30 pm to midnight so that you can choose from an early dinner before the show or a late romantic dinner for the two of you, and of course, there’s always the option of 24-hour room service. You are free to dine where, when and with whom you choose.

HOW DO WE KNOW WHERE TO EAT EACH NIGHT?
It’s up to you. With over 10-24 International restaurants, you can always have exactly what you are in the mood for. From Asian, Spanish, Continental, French, Italian, Brazilian and many more, there are no rules as to where you dine or when you dine, so try them all (Some may have a nominal fee).

WHAT TIME IS THE DINNER SEATING?
Freestyle cruising ships like Norwegian do not have structured dinner seating, so that is entirely up to you. So if you are in port, you don’t have to hurry back to the ship and stress about getting dressed for dinner to make a 6 pm seating. You can stay in port and enjoy whatever you are doing longer. The restaurants are open from 5:30 pm to midnight, with seating available until 10 pm. You can dine early or late. It’s all up to you. and if you want even more flexibility, room service is available 24 hours a day, plus pizza delivery.

WE LIKE TO MEET NEW PEOPLE. CAN WE SIT WITH OTHER GUESTS AT DINNER?
Certainly. You can dine with your group, or just ask and you will be seated with anyone you wish including your group or other guests, that way you can enjoy meeting new people. Choose a different way to dine every night. Meet new people during the cruise and dine with them as the week progresses. You’re not limited to dining with the same people every night. If you want to be alone, a table for two will be provided.

Princess Cruises is the only cruise line to offer both Traditional Fixed Seating and Anytime Seating.

Traditional Fixed Seating:
Dine at a specific time each evening and enjoy the camaraderie of the same dinner companions and wait staff throughout your cruise.

Anytime Dining:
Indulge in the freedom of restaurant-style dining, allowing you to dine when and with whom you want, whether it’s a candlelit dinner for two or a meal with new friends.

Traditional Fixed Seating

Finish off a fabulous day with an elegant meal in the main dining room. You will be assigned a table prior to embarkation and can request to sit with friends. You may change your table assignment depending on availability.

Some itineraries will include a combination of casual and formal nights in the main dining room.

It is safe to say that you can get some food at any time you like.
